Republicans Go Woke

The Republican party has woke up.  The anti-woke movement was a staple of the MAGA platform.  Diversity, inclusion, and most notably the restriction of free speech were the evils of the democratic socialist ideal.  Do not speak out against any minority groups or you will be punished by being publically cancelled.  Being cancelled for expressing your opinions will corrupt the American way of life and the current president knows because he is well acquainted with corruption.  (Donald once argued the pro side of bribery and corruption on air in a CNBC segment.  Sounds ridiculous right?  No he actually did, seriously look it up.)  The art part of the deal seems to be related to the art of making a corrupt deal look like it is just a part of normal business practices.

If you were woke, you were restricting free speech.  Republicans were up in arms about online companies (you know popular ones like facebook, myspace, and Friendster.) who were targeting and limiting the dissemination of false information.  They railed against these companies for limiting free speech by taking this information down (true or false) from their sites.  The majority of the information happened to be from many Republican leaning influencers.*  Elon Musk, once an ally for MAGA, now considered one of the poorest men in America,** even went so far as to spend billions to buy Twitter to make sure information (true or false) could flow freely.  (Because that's what he cares about, free speech.)  Now a few months into power many Republican representatives are reversing course, of course.

Any person who has anything bad to say about Charlie Kirk (true or false) should be muzzled, fired, or both because no time in our country's history has a man of such prominence within a political party ever been assassinated.  (Presidents Lincoln, Garfield, McKinley, Kennedy, excluded of course.)  This according to many Republicans is the first sign of the apocalypse.  (It might be, who knows?  We haven't seen an Epochalypse, a 2Pacalypse, or even an eclypse in a long time but we could be ssstaring right at it.)  Many Republicans have railed against Democrats for the assassination of Kirk as if there were some conspiracy from the big D to brainwash the minds of young people into murdering people.  (It's called Sesame Street but shhh... dont tell the Republicans they might try to cancel funding for it.  Wait, what?  They already did that?  That makes cents.  Can't have all these children out here learning their ABC's and stuff they might grow up to learned words.  Stop them from gettin learnt now before they figure out how to speak those words, then we won't have to take away those speaking freedoms!  Well played Republicans.)

What is the famous line from Batman?  "I am Batman!"  No, not that one.  The other one that has to deal with like moral values and stuff... "You either die a hero or live long enough to see yourself become the villain."  This quote speaks to the erosion of the character morals.  Hero's set out to do good within a strict framework of moral values.  (We think generally Republicans and Democrats both want to do some sort of "good" but get so focused on defeating each other they forget about that.)  Villains have no moral values which is the reason they are being fought against.  Sometimes it is felt that in order to beat or vanquish the villain the hero must resort to some of the villains tactics.  I.E. murdering the villain instead of arresting and forcing them to be held accountable in accordance of the rule of law.  The hero that commits murder then is no longer the hero at all but then becomes a villain.  The moral values are what draw a clear line of separation between the hero and villain.  Hero's have lines they will not cross.

The moral values of this country are set forth in the Constitution.  You know that document which forms general laws that have been crafted as the framework for the people of this country to abide by.  The most quoted and emphasized are the first ten amendments to the bill of rights.  We believe in them and especially the first one:  "We hold these truths the be self evident..."  wait, that's some other document...  Oh, right, the first amendment is the whole freedom to speak out against your government thing and probably says other stuff too.  (Like for the most part Philadelphia sports fans suck!  See we can say that and we won't go to jail.  We may get batteries thrown at us and seriously injured, but we won't go to jail.)  The first amendment states: "Congress shall make no law taking away the freedom of speech or the press.  Except in the event it so within finds that this speech is not nice to your feelings.  Then, if your fragile feelings get hurt, government shall use the powers to threaten to revoke your FCC license or to sue you for billions of dollars in an effort to obtain silence or compliance."  Well shoot.  We guess the new administration is using that amendment correctly.  We were so lazy we used to only read the first sentence but now we see there is more to it.  Our bad...  Well played Republicans.

Republicans once stood as a conservative force to protect the constitution from being infringed upon.  Now, they find themselves removing parts of the moral framework of our democracy because these laws are restricting their ability to defeat their enemy.  Who is your hero?

*We had a conversation with a friend who tends to lean towards the Republican side of the isle.  This person was angry about how many more posts get taken down from the Right side of the isle versus the Left side of the isle.  He said look at the numbers when you compare them they are not even close.  We pondered the question; Does this mean that these media companies are biased against Republicans or that simply Republicans are more likely to lie?

**Financial wealth is not equal to living a rich life.  We see a rich life being abundant in love, empathy, and compassion for everyone including the less fortunate.  We do not see much of these attributes put forth in Musks' public life but maybe we're wrong and he secretly feeds the homeless out of the backrooms of Tesla dealerships.  If so, he is much richer than we thought.
